Hot Topic: The New Kids On The Block - Automaptics

There is nothing new under the sun and Automaptics, a small, focused, Irvine California startup is about to prove it. Their product is given away to airlines and passengers, is advertising funded and lets users find the best restaurants, night life and services for arrival destination throughout the US. Got your attention? Automaptics is an advertising supported IFE content service that features localized points of interests coded in software and delivered to airlines for their IFE. Mike Reiss, a long-time IFEer  told IFExpress; "We are in discussions with several of the airlines, IFE manufacturers, Broadband Suppliers and Content companies.  To date we have received very positive feedback and are very excited to be demonstrating our product at the WAEA in Long Beach (Booth 959)." As you can see from the demo screen (advertisers shown as example placement only), passengers will glean a lot of "what to do" information from the Automaptics database, and if nothing else, using the system is usually a precursor to the passenger sign-up other content and communication services on the plane. While not a new idea, the availability of new services and hardware might make this a product who's time has come. "We extend with the airline brand and mobile based information information retrieval systems and we revenue share with the AIRLINE and IFE PROVIDERS because our products provide great visibility brand and local advertisers...", noted Arman Asfar, Founder and CEO. Presently, they are designing for the Thales platform but we see them on other IFE and connectivity services soon .We think this would even work in an airline lounge especially since they have they have an SMS service that works in conjunction with their database. If you are looking for a new product for your IFE system or you have a lot of loose cash to invest, you might try these folks! We particularly like their product tag line, "From the seat to the street..." If you are interested in this clever service, contact Arman at 949 500-5855 in California for more information.
